Deep Breath

Take a deep breath. Clean air ducts are the foundation for good indoor air quality. If you’re concerned about the air quality in your home, your heating and cooling ducts may be contributing to the problem.  Over several years, air ducts can become contaminated with mold, fungi, and bacteria, as well as dust. Just one look at the inside of your home’s air ducts may convince you to get them cleaned ASAP. “Seeing, it is believing”.

Take a look and see for yourself

  1. Remove the air vent cover from several of your ducts. Are they greasy or show caked-on dust? That’s a good indication of what’s blowing around your house.
  2. Reach inside your duct with a wet rag and wipe the sides. If dark dust or scum ends up on the rag you should consider having your ducts professionally cleaned.

Professionally cleaning ducts is more than just a quick wipe down. Stramowski uses the latest technology and equipment for cleaning the ducts in your home. We use the Rotobrush system – a four-motor, super strong vacuum along with a special rotating brush that can even go around corners to remove the gunk and dust from the walls of your ducts. After your ducts are cleaned, change your air filters on your furnace. Once your ducts are clean and you have a new filter, you’ll be breathing easier!  Want to know more about why it’s important to clean your air ducts, check out this article from the HVAC Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Association.
